Hi Sheldon. Your thumbnails dont come up any bigger for me. I dont know if its me or you are compressing them too much.

Very good. I can attest for the hammer giving sufficient clearance in that spot in my rangie.

Hey Keith, For some reason when I click on it, two windows open up - one comes up with the thumbnail and the other opens up full size.....

I have a 300TDI with 315000 ks on and thought about an Isuzu motor, 3.9 has been run in Army 110s for years, is there much difference between the Army 110s and the 300TDI as fare as engine mounts and gearboxes/transmission splins etc?

The Army 110's run the LT95 gearbox/transfer case. Factory civilian Isuzu 110's either had the LT95 or the LT85/LT230. So there are factory parts (namely flywheel and bellhousings) available (although in short well guarded supply) to fit the Isuzu to landrover boxes. However both these boxes put the gear lever in the wrong spot (it would come out where your dash should be).

There is a conversion to mate the R380/LT230 (which I believe will be in your Disco) using the LT85 flywheel and bellhousing. I believe British Off Road have done this set up in 110's before.

There is also the conversion as per this thread which is using the Isuzu gearbox found behind the 3.9 in the Isuzu trucks, which adapts the gearbox to the LT230 transfer case.

Other than that the engine mounts need to be made up. You can either cut and reweld the mounts on your chassis. Or I believe (although I haven't seen it myself) that it is possible to modify the mounts which bolt to the engine to align them with the original Disco mounts.
