    Disco 1 Lumbar support

Does anyone have the part number of the lumbar support band in the drivers seat of a Disco 1

Its a big rubber band a the steel hooks on each end that is tensioned up when winding the knob on the side of the seat back

Any help will be greatly appreciated

    Cheers

Don't know, give Terry a call. I scavenged the one out of my wreck (now departed) and made it fit the Rangie seat. Not adjustable, but a lot more support and comfort now.

Could be in Alice for a night in two weeks, will keep you posted.

    Opposite Lock

If you don't mind spending some $$$. Go to Opposite Lock and get a bladder type and fit it inside the seat. Then all you do is pump it up using the bulb (Similar to what Doctors use to get your blood pressure). It cost me $100 a few years ago and has not let me down. Although the landrover band has broken 3 times. Now I use both. The bladder for the lower back. Can sit there for 10-12hrs without a problem.

I fixed (bodged?) mine in my old Disco. Made some holes further in on the band and anchored to the frame and to the tensioner side with cable ties - had to fix the current one but used wire instead. Anything will work really as long as the anchor points are OK. Alternatively, the left seat will probably be OK, gets less use normally - it actually fits fine on the driver's side, adjustment isn't as easy but its a quick fix for long drives.
