    3.9 v8 oil filters

    hi i have a 3.9 94 model has a z89a filter on it from my experience in ford can u put a z9 or a afl 1 on it to give a better filter size ?

    Yes, but it isn't the size so much but the quality of the element. The Z9 is a fair bit cheaper though.
    I use ERR3340 genuine or OE ones, cheaper sometimes than Z89a too.

    yeh i bought that one today and i bought a afl 1 a genuine ford one the z148a was 11.50 at supercheap paid 12.50 for ford one and 21 .50 for the genuine landrover

    If your disco has an oil cooler like a RRC, do not fit a Z9 as the diff will clout it on a big bump.
    There was a thread on this last week with a confirmation from someone it had ACTUALLY happened to.

    just checked my oil filter about to change theres heaps of room there for a bigger filter but will replace it with the genuine just in case

    well i just changed the oil and try to fit the genuine one the centre was already stripped inside when i went to fit it ,it fell off lucky i bough a afl 1 genuine 6 v8 falcon filter it spun on and works perfectly .we live 200 klms from civilization so lucky i bought the 2
