Well that was some unwarranted hate... Asking nicely has better results than what you just posted, posting in such a way has undesirable reactions. Its not rocket science, its approx 20L/100km petrol and 40L/100km LPG. That took all of 2 seconds to figure out, next time, ask nicely instead of making yourself look like a bit of an ass thanks.

Not hate at all. You didn't give useful info. Are those consumption figures around town or on highway?

If it only took you that long, why didn't you do it when you first posted.

If you are getting 40l/100km on lpg there is something seriously wrong.

I get 18 litres/100km on petrol and 20 l/100km on LPG around town with my 4.6 RR. On highway, I get 13l/100 km for petrol and around 17-18 l/100 on LPG.

I have found the best way to save on fuel useage in my V8 D1 is to drive the V8 D2a. It is much more economical so I get much better mileage.

By the way be nice to Ron.

    cheers,
    Terry

I must admit I agree with Ron, If I am going to help someone I want the information given in a standard way that we all understand.

When i am asking for help I try to make it as easy to understand as possible so that no one looks and goes 'to hard'

There are some truely brilliant minds on here and I have found over the years that i get more sense here than from most mechanics (Justin excluded from this generalisation, as he is one of the brilliant minds I refer to, so is Ron)

Busy Bee fitted a high energy coil to mine and it has made a big difference - that could help. But to sort everything out really we need to go back to mechanics 101, good spark, plenty of air in and air out, good fuel delivery, good compression, of you have all of these then what ever your fuel consumption is; that is the best you can get unless you start modifying things which is what I am doing.

do you guys know roughly how many degrees you will get from advancing mechanical idle(600) to 3000 RPM?
    And with the Vac advance?
I am not a mechanic, but egger to learn, what is the best method to test the vac advance, I had a look and it appeared good but i did not know we had mechanical advance.
what is the best way to set timing? I set mine with the engine idling adjusting and then driving, next day adjusting then driving. and found 10 degrees advanced seemed best.

I hope this was right, I have learn't so much from the guys on here it is amazing!
    Thank you to you all!

I don't think anyone is or would ever dispute the knowledge or help you get from the brilliant minds on this forum, god knows I've got plenty myself and will no doubt continue to ask for more. But also most of us are adults and lots of us are still learning the ropes on how to talk "car" sometimes, and no adult likes being spoken to like a child who's been a bad boy.

It's not uncommon for the vacuum port for the advance to block up. A poke with a piece off a stranded cable usually fixes it.
