cant really compete with the rover with only 170k on the clock

but my old 80 series landcruiser. 4.5 litre petrol, had 760thousand kms on the clock.

gas was fitted at 420k and was used daily till i sold it
turbo off a ford xr6 turbo was fitted at 510k running 10lbs boost
and it had either 35" or 37" tyres fitted from 500k on standard diff gears

motor had never been split, but i had replaced 3 oil pumps, 7 crank seals, 2 water pumps, and oil and filter changes every 5000kms

motor didnt use any oil, still started first turn every time, but could tell it was loosing compression, with the turbo sucking the last bit of life out of it. haha

i sold it to a younger **** who rolled it 5 times up the beach 2 weeks after he got a hold of it.

I guess the TDI 300 can give the Isuzu a run for its money life wise then ?

Wonder if my Td5 can get to 500,000 ?

    Well,
I cant speak for Mac1308 but i think i know why Olfella always has a smile on his dial! They get to spend a lot of time with their butt's parked in their disco's driving all around the country. I still cant believe how far these motors can go if looked after! Keep up the good work lads.

    Cheers

My 2 owner 93 200 tdi disco has 429731kms on it.

Previous owner took it around Oz 3 times.

It actually runs better than my 96 300tdi disco which had the motor and box rebuilt 50k kms ago.
