What colour Code - Dark Green? D1

The paint on the bonnet of my MY94 dark green V8 petrol D1 has faded to an extent where raw surface material is showing.

I will have this re-sprayed eventually, but in the meantime, I want to spray paint it with cans to protect this large exposed surface.

I understand that the spray paint can will not exactly match the original colour, and this is OK.

What spray paint colour in the cans best matches this dark green colour?

What is the colour code of this dark green paint?

This table maybe useful for narrowing it down: metallic colour

Look under metallic and non-metallic on the left side menu.

You should be able to find your car's paint code by lifting the bonnet and looking for a metal plaque attached to the metal in between the front grill and radiator top, usually LRC ###.

Bonnet = Alloy - Wont rust

    A flat black will do

All external body panels are aluminium except for the roof which is steel.

    Paint codes: some resources

My Dark Green V8 discovery ES (95) turned out to be "Epsom Green" according to its paint code.

An easy trick is to put the paint code name and car into Google images, and see if the discovery's look like yours (ie Discovery Epsom green)

I tried matching the cans but no direct match in Repco/Bursons etc. If your not too fussed , try unbolting something and take into the store to match a can to (filler lid etc).

Some Autobahns can do a custom mix in an aerosol can for about 30$.

Here are are some basic resources to match the codes on the plates to a colour name
