No don't need to prime. Its bolt off bolt on
Hi All
Just a quick question I'm about to fit a new brake vacum pump (95 TDi) anything special about it. I have read through heaps of the threads on this subject it seems to be a simple bolt off/on. I thought I read in one of threads that I had to prime the new unit. Now I am ready to fit I cant find that thread again was I imagining it or do I need to prime the unit and if so is it just a case of filling a little bit of oil in the unit before fitting.
Cheers
Lars

bolt on bolt off, if its fighting you too hard turn the engine between 180 and 360 degrees on the crank.

Straight forward job, actually. No major pains to be expected.

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.
Hi Kwosie,
As Black Knight has mentioned, relatively easy job, makes things so much easier if you have the cam lobe in the right place to start off with, if you turn the crank and hold a mirror over the hole makes getting the cam in the right place, very easy.
And DONT PUT ANY OIL IN IT![]()
