Sandman, have a look at my thread. Same problem.

this is taking quite a while, but i'm doing it all myself, when i get the time to, and when it's not freezing cold outside.
finally got the old PAS pump out, now to fit the new one, grind some bolts to fit, and bleed the system... not quite sure what's involved with that, will bug when i'm ready to tackle it.
thanks again for all your help everbody.

For the leaking heater I would advise that you bypass the heater core by removing the hoses and joining them together in the engine bay, as it is a dash removal job to get to the core, that way you should be able to get the correct radiator water pressure for cooling, I too recommend that you fit a low water alarm, with light and buzzer,my warning light is mounted in one of the switches by the instrument binicle The BLACK radiator expansion tank HAS to GO they are responsable for destroying more 300TDI's than enough

    cheers

    hey dudes.
so, i'm getting everything back together again now, got the new PAS pump in, and i have a loose wire from the second battery (-ve) that looks like it should connect to the alternator? i dunno where i goes, and would prefer to not burn the car down. wanna see a pic?

Shouldn't it go to the dual battery controller?
