what garys saying holds true, but given the dimensions of the tdi manifold the turbo would give up before the manifold failed.
From what I understand is 1 heat changes the metal and it burns out quicker from the inside and 2 moisture gets strapped under the bandage and turns to steam and this also causes the out side of the tube to disintegrate ....if you google the question you'll find a bit I'm sure...my knowledge is going back 20_30 yrs and ceramic coatings ect my have changed things a little...
