So Land Rover then started putting them in the bumpers (both locations). From 95 onwards the ones on the body got phased out with only the ones in the bumpers being used. Simon
Pretty much the case - the lights need to be visible with the door open. I don't know if it was new legislation, or just the interpretation of it.

My 95 only has tail and blinker lights in the bumper.

You will find there is power for tail lights still goes to the body lights, so if you want tail lights at both it can easily be wired. Not sure about blinkers tho.

My 99 S1 has both high and low lights all wired and working. Dont know if it was done by the PO, I thought they all were like mine.

For the blinkers there are 3 variations AFAIK.
The pre update 91to 93ish had them up in the body.
The post update 94 to 96ish had them in the bumper.
The post update 95 to 98ish had them in both body and bumper.

As said previously you can wire up the body tail lights easily enough. Everything else needed is already fitted.
If you want body blinkers you will need to buy the later or earlier assembley.

For the transmission slowing to a stop clunk, mine did that and it was my handbrake dragging. Mine is a manual but would be worth adjusting it anyway.

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated.

I won't worry about the 2nd set of indicators, if all I need legally are the ones on the bumper bar.

Still lots of little DIY things to do, before I let the pro's raid my wallet.

Will keep you's posted on the progress.

    Regards

    Hi all,

Anybody use their Gerni with the suds bottle full of degreaser to clean oil leaks from underneath their vehicle.

    Regards

Haven't used the suds bottle for it yet. I've just used $2 cans of degreaser, then pressure washed it off.

Yes it works well in the areas it reaches.
The wand on mine is too long to get into the tighter spots.

You will need to get into the cancer around the alpine windows. Might be best to get the glass and rubber removed and do a good job on getting to the cancer/rust.
