Fitted the Billies to mine over 10 years ago and there still going strong. Major improvement in reducing roll while cornering and soaking up the corrugations. Mine were fitted with new springs with a 2" lift, best thing I did on the Disco.

    Hi Chang,
I've fitted Tough Dogs to my D1 with a 2 inch suspension lift, no problems so far. The mags I've read they have a pretty good right up.

What kind of weight are you carrying in the D1 Nomad? Can you tell me the part numbers or specs? I have sent Emails direct to Tough Dog via their website and can't get a single reply from them.
I'm so frustrated with the lack of response that I'm getting quotes from Dobinsons instead now.

    Hi Streaky,
I have a bull bar winch compatible, no winch, and a full set or drawers in the back with all the usual stuff in it, also have the ability to fit a fridge but thats in the other vehicle right now. I've had a quick look underneath and can't see any markings, to much road dirt on them. I'll have another look when I get a better chance and it is a bit lighter.

Going to go Koni. Just waiting still on shipping cost but either way will still be better than here after a quote I recieved from an Aussie seller at 500 for rears & same for front.

I think more should be done to regulate RRP here in aus, rather than try an stiff us on import duties, especially when an individual buyer can beat local pricing by hundreds of dollars on one set. bloody joke

You won't be disappointed with the Konis. I've had the 8240 set in my Disco since before we did the "big trip" last year (15000ks in 4 mths). Thousands of k's of outback corrugations, plenty of flexing in weekend trips and general road duties (with a fully loaded vehicle pulling a 1500kg camper) and they're still going strong.

Got my set from Paddocks early last year. Ended up saving loooottsss of money over local prices.

    Cheers

I have a set of Terrafirma All Terrain shocks and they SUCK! Granted they were only $174.00. The truck is so stiff that when I hit a bump on the road or a small hole the trucks shakes and vibrates like it was going to fall apart. its almost like a frame twisting motion the vibration starts at one wheel (the one hit the hole) and the the entire body shatters.

I am going to buy a set of Koni, more than twice the price and hope to see the difference.

Ordered the koni dampers from paddocks, & paid for them only to receive an email stating they will not ship them due to having to fill out a dangerous goods Dec & its just too time consuming, so refund it is.

I emailed them a while ago asking for a freight cost & nothing then was said???
Very unhappy with the service. If they don't ship shocks internationally why not state it or when selecting Australia as the destination, then bring up halt to the bloody order.

Anyway, spoke to both rimmer bros & Devon 4x4 over the phone last night, both of which are happy to ship for anyone else ordering shocks

Sorry to hear Chang, I have had a chequered history with Paddocks orders (though my Konis weren't an issue at the time), chase down the Konis with one of the others.

    Cheers
