Had one fitted to my D1, solid piece of kit and no more wonky corners![]()
Hi guys!
So as my rear bar is looking a little worse for wear, I'm thinking by the time i get a straight one, replace the end plastics, maybe I would be better off with heavy duty steel one?
I'm looking for the cheaper end of the scale, eg $1700 from kaymar is about $1000 too much!
I have found these:
Land Rover Discovery 1 Heavy Duty Rear Bumper | eBay
They are about $520 delivered, and look reasonable.
Is there anything local, or guys making them etc that would be worth a look? Has anyone used one of these ebay bars before (possibly britpart?)
Cheers!
Sean

There's an ARB one on my Disco. It's quite deep - to protect the door mounted spare from damage in an impact - which means that its more of a stretch to load stuff into and out of the back. Not too bad for me but my slighter framed missus may have more trouble? Not sure yet.
Worth considering the pros and cons of such a set up anyway.
$1700 from Kaymar certainly strikes me as a LOT (prob the ARB one cost a previous owner heaps as well) and I suspect that you'd be able to get one fabbed up to your own specs for less than that ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
