My 300Tdi is a manual with 245/70 all terrains and a tweaked fuel pump.
I usually get 9-9.5 litres/100km driving to/from work, roughly 140km round trip every day with about 1/3 in the city and 2/3 freeway.
Best I've ever seen is just over 8litres/100km and that's been over the last few weeks, mainly because roadworks have reduced the freeway to 80kph!
Off road I've seen anywhere between 11-14 litres/100km depending on conditions and how much stuff I'm carrying.

My wifes old TDI300 disco would get consistently low 9's litres per 100km and you could even get into the 8 litres per 100km in the flat country. In the city you would be closer to 10litres per 100km. The inlaws 300tdi would get around 10.5 litres per 100 in the country after the turbo and fuel pump were tickled up.

Usually about 12/100 in the Disco, has pump tweaks with bigger intercooler, 31"s, permanent full roof rack for extra drag. Economy is slightly better on long freeway runs with not much load but worse with the loaded trailer, which is often.

I am surprised to see some of these figures! I have a 1996 300TDi manual which I am about to send to the long yard. It has 380+K on it, the injector pump has a seal leaking (dripping fuel on the ground) and I am still getting 10km to the litre (10l per 100km) town driving in Melbourne (burbs)
Best I ever got out of a tank was Melb to Port Macquarie, 917km and refeulled with 71 litres back when diesel was $1.90 pl

On the other hand, I am really surprised to see your numbers. Wow, that's very efficient. Most I ever got was 610km from about 80 litters, and mine is EDC Auto, which should be more efficient. Someone suggested that my turbo might be on the way out. Another thing is that the diesel fuel quality is crap here in Indonesia (where I live), highest sulfur content in SE Asia. (Yeah, the pollution is a serious health risk here. )

Ooh, that's not great, 80 litres and the low fuel light is about on, I almost never let it get to the red bit and most times I fill to 65- 70 lt the km mostly always match the litres X 10.
My Disco is stock, no mods and I have only had to replace the water pump so far.

Well, but judging what the average is from all the other posts, I blame it on fuel quality. May have to check that turbo though, my is only 123,000km so it should not be a problem. I have stock wheels, but bigger intercooler, oh yeah, and I have a chip (Tunit) on my EDC ECU. It gives heaps of more power but takes fuel I guess.

Max I every put in was 84litters yap the yellow light was on!
