    300tdi tyres

Hi I have just fitted 245/75/16 muddies to my standard steel rims (6 inch?)
These are around 31 inch and are the biggest I can legally go with in QLD. I had to adjust bump stops and trimmed the inside lip of the rear guards right at the bottom. I don't get rub off road, but am planning a 2 inch lift to get better clearance and more articulation. I would like to go to 33's but then that wouldn't be fair on the other poor blokes who try to follow the disco!

Ok thanks. I know I would have had to go to wider rims for any bigger tyre. Love the look of 33's

I have defender tyres (235/85r16) on disco 1 steels. It seems that AULROIANs with defenders get rid of their 235's and go abit bigger. Then I pick up their cheap tyres. I did an aggressive camel cut. And I can't attest to performance gain/loss due to my 300TDI not behaving as it should anyway.

What's your purpose of getting big tyres? 235/85's work for me but this still happens

When I had 37's on my cruiser ute that still happened. 235's got me cape York last year though. And Lorella Springs. And the all up cost me about $170 each. And a winch is cheaper than mods required to fit 33's. And if you are bogged with 33's or 35's or 37's your still bogged. If you have a winch being bogged is temporary.
