Changed one on the '95 Disco the missus had, well the tubes going to the heater had broken but changed heater core at the same time.

From memory a couple of hundred for the new core and tubes, and a FULL days work fit. Entire dash out...

MAY be possible to change just the core with out stripping dash.

    How Hard you reckon?

thanks for the reply mate. once the dash comes out is it straight forward? the reason I ask the a/c has also been disconnected the heater not working don't really worry me enough to pull the dash out but if I can fix both I will give it a crack. the old girl drinks some serious fuel without the a/c should be even better if I hook it back up!!!

The dash out is not a fun job, but once done is not as scary as it seems.
The core is actually pretty cheap from the UK, and you can run flexi lines all the way to the matrix if you want.
It's a great chance to clean the hell out of the dash, cable tie lots of stuff, adjust flaps and replace lots of the sealing foam.
You can get it out by yourself, but I reckon you want someone else to help for the refit, if only when you handle it back in.

yes, a hand when re-installing would be helpful. I put off doing it for 6 months.....its not so bad after having done it tho .. not that that I would like to do one again any time soon
