    Clearance under top of dash

    I'm making a simple alloy dash pod for some extra gauges and switches for my early ('93) D1. Bottom plate will be screwed onto the flat shelf part of the dash.


    Any idea how much room I have under there before I drill/screw into something I wish I hadn't?

    In the centre you have the stereo that you may hit, but off to either side there is little near the top, from memory you'd have to go a long way to hit something, probably 3 inches at a guess.
    all of the wiring is lower down, there are no pipes and so on, you have the vents which you could hit, but the stereo is the only thing up there.

    stereo is in front of centre consul...'93 pre update model...so different dash to what your thinking at a guess...
