If you do a fair bit of off-road, I would suggest 5000km services (oil and oil filter). I have had more than enough recommendations that way over the years to just stick with it. Depending on usage that's anywhere between 2 and 9 months for me at the moment. If you are only on tarmac... Probably stretch it out to somewhere between 7500kms and 10000kms.
Its really not that expensive. I'm certainly not made of money by any means, but I do want the old girl to keep going for long time to come. I also try to buy my oil in 20L drums whenever I can. Watch the prices though, sometimes the likes of Super Crap get sneaky and the 20L works out at about 15% more expensive the cheeky buggers.
As mentioned above, start to get yourself into a routine of doing all your fluids. Diffs, gear/transfer box, grease, etc. If you get yourself into a bit of a rolling schedule with them then you won't hit a particular milestone and have to fork out bulk cash to do everything at once.
Also worth noting. If you do spend a fair bit of time off-road, especially in water or mud, check your diff and gear/transfer box oils after each run. Nothing worse than water and mud running around in there. Well. Except maybe the possible resultant metal shavings and chunks! :P
Good luck and enjoy the precious time spent underneath your Landis.
