Very sad.
Reminds me of about 20 years back when i had to sell my 1976 rrc due to circumstances beyond control...
+1 .... about 4yrs ago.
'79 model. Had it from 89 up to about 2006 on the road and 6 yrs stored. But didn't have the room at my house, had to leave to leave it stored at my folks bush-ier block, with room to swing many rovers of various incarnations.
But folks upgraded to a larger newer house, and the 30ton backhoe had priority, so RRC was sold literally for next to nothing.
New battery. Checked the alternator with a multi meter and it was charging perfect, so was a dud battery. It`s those little things like a flat battery that puts a wrinkle in your plans when leaving work to head home.![]()

Replaced the fuel assist unit for cold starting on gas. I think it`s going to be a fair list of replaced parts with a discovery 3.9 motor. Next is the idle air control valve. Revs were going all over the place, revving too high on start up then ok. Gave the valve a clean and it came good. So I assume that is the culprit.

Replaced the transmission temp sensor. Took it for a drive about 60km and no warning light. Previously was coming on after 20-30 km so that's a win.
Fitted new power steering pump. What an amazing difference. I had previously bled the system and fixed all leaks and assumed they just had heavy steering. Looks like I had very little or no power assist in hindsight. I can now turn it from lock to lock while stationary with one finger.
Also fitted a 2.5 x 2.5 awning. https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/pro...-5-awning.html
Seems well made and easy for one person to set up and should be fine without ropes in light winds.
