Hi, a bad relay would stop the indicators to work too, is your only problem the dash indicator warning nothing else?
Hey all. I have a problem with my dash indicator light not working. I tried swapping the bulbs and still nothing. I'm guessing it is a bad relay. My questions are: is the relay located behind the fuse box? And.... Best place to get a replacement? It's a 1991 D1 V8....
Thanks in advance as always...
Cheers

then IMO the problem is between the stalk and the dash or within the dash but unfortunately i don't have a wiring diagram of so early modell to help you more![]()

The relay has 2 circuits. 1 for the telltale dash lights, and 1 for the externals...

if it's so i stand corrected... not the best setup, it means it could be the relay too, strangely on later modells it's single contact relay![]()

i felt guilty and dug after the diagram:
yes it seems that the problem might be the "flasher unit"(nr48) which actually is a 5 pin relay and looks like this Flasher Relay PRC8878 PRC5082 Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order. and it seems that it's behind the passenger compartment fusebox/footwell behind the kickpanell (blue wiring connector) (not 100% certain about that though)

Found it! It was behind the fuse box under steering wheel. Was this little bugger.....ImageUploadedByAULRO1415062811.762100.jpg
