    Camshaft and timing chain

    Hi All

Today my question is about camshaft wear and timing chain stretch, I have read on the WWW that these are big issues for the Rover V8. Has anyone had experiences with these? Are they able to be done with engine in car? Are they a common issue?

    Regards,

Camshaft wear is common but only on high(ish) km. The Rover engine is very forgiving though & it can soldier on for a long time with a worn cam, depending on how bad it is.

The engine is left in situ for a camshaft replacement and, while it's all apart, it's often an ideal time to do a top end refresh.
