Yeah Dave, it's going to be a chilly Winter in my Disco

At least a lack of warm air doesn't constitute a roadworthy certificate failure here in NSW. But lots of other stuff that needs to be done before rego is due mid April does That'll be another thread.

    Are you sure?

When I wanted to register my D1 in WA, I found I would have to have the heater fixed - so I left it registered in NSW. I eventually fixed it when it came back to Sydney.

Yeah Ron, my mechanic says as long as the blower works that is all that is required here in NSW for a pink slip pass. I'll get the heater sorted next year before Winter

I believe in Vic it would not pass a RWC.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

It will depend on the tester but i know of one d1 that recently passed with a bypassed heater , as long as it can demist (dont need heat for that) i cant see a problem.

That's what my mechanic said too. Just run the aircon and it will demist. I will get it sorted, but not till next year. Its just a comfort thing, and besides, my pain meds keep me warm!

Just know that it doesn't have to be a dash out job to replace the matrix / heater core. Some cutting of aluminium lines and removal of a few brackets will allow you to slide it towards the drivers footwell like an old 8 track cassette. Do a search on this forum, theres a lot of info on that fix - its the info I used and took me less than a day.
