Washing out the TC
Hi all got my spare LT230 on the bench doing the seals and gaskets, can I fill it full of diesel to wash it out while its open

Yes. No problems as long as you are going to strip anyway and clean,dry reusable components. I guess you are replacing bearing as part of the rebuild.
Post up photos of your progress. It would be interesting.

Actually I wasnt going to strip it, just pull off all covers replace gaskets and seals, was looking inside and thought I could just fill it with diesel to wash it out

Then I probably wouldn't. You wouldn't be able to dry the internals well enough for my liking. It probably wouldn't dilute the new oil badly enough to cause a problem but I wouldn't like to take the chance. You could get some flushing oil and run that though. But unless you have a known problem just clean as best you can or strip and clean completely.
