    Unusual loop in plug

    Hey guys/gals
Was setting up my roverguage yesterday and noticed a plug that has a loop in it. I have to assume this is not normal lol.

This plug is located just below the glove box where your CC ecu among other things is located.
I tried to pull the loom down a bit for the benefit of the photo.
Car runs fine as it is, im just curious as to why there would be a loop there.
Any advice on its purpose would be appreciated.
    Cheers.

If it is black like it looks then it is just an earth.

Probably the plug is for an unfitted option that has a sensor incorporated.

It looks OEM to me so I advise leaving it be.

Agree with everything you said mate.
It appears to be connecting 2 black wires (earth)
And it does appear to be an OEM plug.
However the wire looping into it does look backyard so to speak.
Anyone know what that particular plug is even for?

If you cut the loop you have less than 3 minutes to find a safe place to park the car and run like hell before the engine erupts in a huge fireball, it's called the don't-ask-silly-questions-or-die plug.

Go on, I dare ya to unplug it and see what stops. Landy accessories are often controlled by the earth path of their relays and some function of the a/c may have had an extra control mode in some models. Looped blanking plugs are pretty normal and save you cutting the loom to add a function.

Having felt bad for earlier i went out on my lunch break and had a look. I do not have a similar plug on mine. Having said that, my is a 300tdi. I believe yours is v8. If theres two earth wires at the back it could possibly be for an accessory not fitted, like electric seats or sunroof?
My tdi definitely doesn't have it though, i had a good look.
