Picked up a couple of 3.9 D1 parts cars today.
The standard exhaust on my 3.5 D1 has seen better days. Standard muffler starting to rust through, and leaks at resonator. Would like to fit the exhaust of one of the other Disco's to mine.
Standard exhaust is 2". One of the 3.9's has a 2 1/4" single exhaust, looks pretty new, standard size ( 1 5/8"???) Y, small centre/offset no name muffler with hotdog at the back. Average looking construction, sounds ok.
Other one has 2" Y, 2 1/2" single system with small Lukey offset/centre muffler and no resonator. Looks nicely made but not as new, has flange joint at diff. Flange at Y is a larger size to standard. Engine doesn't run, so no idea of what it sounds like.
The 2 1/4 should bolt straight up to my existing flange at the Y. Would have to use the lot with the 2 1/2.
What would be better on the 3.5? Would the larger Y piece and 2 1/2" rob low down torque over the std sized Y and 2 1/4"?
Cheers
Rick
