the degree involves a lot more cash that I dont have, bigger intercooler, multiple radiators, bigger front radaitor, 2:1compound turbos with 2 small VNTs being force fed by a garret with a tip turbine fed off the waste gate and boost bleed to pull air through a secondary air:air intercooler, water injection on condtion and driver demand only, fuel heaters for WVO and onboard processing a bush ranger shell true track up the front and a torque biasing diff in the guts of the lt230
    Holy.......
So 1/4 mile time is about 6-7 seconds with all this?
On more serious side, is there concern with intake air temperature when increasing boost like in petrol cars? And if so, what's the safe limit?

nope it aint about 1/4 mile time its about effeciency, making big temperature gradients between the inlet and out let heat levels.

yes, there is a concern about inlet air temps but for a diesel its not as critical as it is for a petrol, the fuel is kept safely out of the combustion chamber till its needed.

I'm always worried about mine breaking down because of things people say about LR. It has never let me down though and is smooth as silk. So don't understand why people talk badly about them.

I'm sure you all have seen the state my cooling system was in and still the car never even flinched.

Lot of maintenance yeah, but don't forget, it's almost 20years old and it does get used off-road.

    I love mine.

    Smile Tdi love

Fausto, I can feel the love , but you've got a Tdi and took care of it.
Same with me 15 years of trouble free motoring, plenty of offloading, but always done the maintenance. That's the way it should be , no surprises.

Our cars were probably made on Tuesday or Wednesday

The top hose lay out, braided hose is to the feed to the turbo, the 2 red ones to the intercooler, you can see the egt probe, tdi200 exhaust manifold. in the plastic bung the low level sensor for the EMS. yellow mower fuel line for the injector spill.

    IMG_0045.jpg
in the deep dark recesses you can see the coolant return for the turbo, this used to be the block drain. 3 inch exhaust and for the really observant the exhaust brake red hoses keep going to the coolant/charge air intercooler

    IMG_0046.jpg
Straigth down shot at the intercooler, basically it just takes the place of the existing metal pipe.

over all passangers side shot showing the second battery, airbox and snorkle.
