I have never seen a vented disc on a d1 abs or not , possibly only for US market ?
Vented rotor won't fit , you will need defender calipers.
Guys....
Upon looking up what Disc Rotors I need for my Defender, I noticed that the Rotors listed for my '96 Disco is Vented but I've actually got Solid Rotors on mine, l'm looking for some advice here...
I've got a '96 Discovery Tdi300 Auto. Its the one that comes with a Sunroof, ABS brakes. I was looking at replacing/upgrading the Front Discs and I checked the front Disc out and they are SOLID Disc. Upon checking the parts listed on the website, I noticed that it should be a Vented Disc. Can anyone tell me what it should be - Vented or Solid?
Can i change to a Front VENTED Disc Rotor and will I still be able to install the Pads into the Caliper with the extra thickness of the Disco Rotor?
Anyone with some knowledge in this would be appreciated

Vented rotor will fit, BUT you will need a caliper to suit, which i would use a defender vented brake caliper
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Yes solid on the 96. You don't really need vented rotors to get decent stopping power (my opinion, no doubt not shared). I use slotted DBA rotors with Airtex (I think) pads, but the best upgrade I made for brake feel was to use braided stainless lines instead of the stock rubber, the lines are also longer for travel with the 2"lift. I guess where the vented rotors would be useful is for extended descents where the solid rotors would heat up a bit more after heavy use. Depends on your ulimate use. The DBA rotors have been the best so far for me, tried some cross drilled/slotted from the UK once with the same pads, but they were made of very soft material, wore through in one set of pads.
