    help identify this noise please

Someone might stop me here but you could pull rear shaft out and drive (gently) and see if it makes a difference, then do the same to front shaft (putting the rear back obviously) and see if it makes a difference.

Is it coming from centre tunnel console mostly?

Yes you can just engage diff lock. It will be slightly more lashy in the drive train in my experience.

Are you sure nothing is contacting between the trans and the body/chassis. A mate dropped some stuff down between a torn gaiter on mine and the gearbox sounded like it was on its last legs. I have also had a rock stuck between the crossmember and transfer case and that made it real noisy.

.... not sure if its a Defender t/case actually...
generally at 100 in 5th it'll sit around 3000rpm, I always put it down to the big wheels...? (265/75/16)

yes, its coming from centre console/ passenger side area..

--- I greased the unis again but can definitely rule them out... no difference.

--- will try diff lock and report back....

--- I doubt it is a lost object, good idea though, but it just has a bearing screech to it in my untrained opinion....

--- I recorded another clip today, but it sais its too large to be uploaded although I trimmed it down to 30 seconds like the last one.
can hear it much louder this time, as I held the phone the other way around

thanks for everyones input.... keep the ideas coming please

ummm.. just a passing thought -- moving away from the driveline - could it have anything to do with the turbo by any chance?
