I think they can’t answer because they are stuck in the middle of nowhere with warped heads and failed headgaskets
Has anyone purchased a 300tdi head through alibaba? If so what was your experience?
Thanks, Tom

Most new heads including AMC are cast in China.

Yea I don’t know. Was an attempt at humour. According to turners the AMC heads are made in Spain but nowadays that can mean anything. All the bits could be made in china and put together in china except for the final bolt, which is then tightened in spain so that they can “legally” say it’s made there.
But I don’t know if that’s the case or not. My amc head has been good thus far, touch wood. I still have my old original head wrapped up in shed though.

Neither. Except for amc on the side. Looked pretty good. I do have a funny issue on startup where it feels like a stuck valve or something. Revs lower for a few seconds until something (probably pressure) make it pick up revs to normal idle. Never caused problems but added to some anxiety then. I swear first few times i drove it was smoother n faster too until that issue presented itself
The current head on mine (replaced an AMC head - split reservoir) was a Chinese head (bare) that I got through Mario. It has gone well. Had a water pump disintegrate at Cocklebiddy. Got a trip on the back of a tilt tray (Thanks NRMA) to Norseman where the garage put a new one on. Took off in the morning heading to Perth only to realise that the mechanic had not bled the air out of the system. It was a 47 degree day and I had to nurse it across without air conditioning all day. It was up around a hundred degrees and plus all day. That was nearly 3 years ago. It's still going strong and hasn't missed a beat.

The best alloy head castings were always done in Italy. Just ask Yamaha and Suzuki. Of course, those days are gone now. I don't know why people are so full of scorn for China though. I'll bet you all use a phone made there. I look for decent brand names these days, like Apple, Milwaukee, Pioneer, VW, Aldi. They all get stuff made in China, but it's all good. Just don't buy the Bunnings 'chuck it away' stuff.
