I guess that raises the question; Just where do the tyres rub? Front, rear, both? If the drag link is bent, it will shorten, thus causing toe out ( hmm, long time since I was under the D1 ), and maybe allowing rubbing at the rear of the wheel at full lock. I bent the Panhard on mine which caused some issues, but I don't think wheel rubbing was one of them. But bent drag kinks and Panhards are reasonably noticeable.
That said. I agree that a wheel alignment might point out any issues. Up where you are, Slunnie, there'll be someone good. Back in the day I had good experience with this mob: Welcome - Hall's Transport Repairs
Sure, they are into heavy stuff, but they may help, or know somebody who will.

I checked what I'm running, because after a couple of beers last night I couldn't remember wether I'd opted for 235/75 or 85.
I'm running falken wildpeak at3's in 235/85r16.
I had to nip/camel cut the rear guards a little, though they may need a tiny bit more removed as it still scrubs a little when flexing.
The fronts don't scrub anymore with the toe adjustment corrected, but were rubbing the radius arms pretty bad on full lock when first fitted, prior to the toe being corrected. I'm still at stock height, though will probably do a 1 inch body lift and possibly a 1 inch suspension lift.
Most tyre shop guys don't really notice toe being a bit out, it's not as noticeable as bad camber or running over/under inflated. You get a little bit of minor scuffing/feathering on the treads, but it's easy to miss, especially If the toe isn't massively out.
If your toe adjustment checks out ok, double check your steer stoppers for wear, damage or poor adjustment. Especially given the fault only occurs in one direction.
Adjust steering stops a smidge to clear radius arms, may have been previously adjusted at some stage. 235/70's (on stock rims) shouldn't rub anywhere.

It's really strange. All standard rims. This is the spare tyre and in the pic you might be able to see the tyre is pressed up onto the body work. They seem to be really wide tyres for their specification.

They certainly are,the son had them on the Puma,on a set of aftermarket rims.
I cant remember the size.
The fronts were just inside the side bar that ran to the bull bar,but the rears did hang out by about 20mm.
The boys in blue ran a staright edge on them once during a vehicle check, and although they said the rears were illegal, just, luckily, they let him off.
You need to adjust the steering stops to prevent them from rubbing. It is normal.
You can fit 245/75 without any issues. 235/70 was a stock size.
Like Red says .. you should be able to fit 245/75 with no issue, but of course the tyre type will affect this too.
I have road biased 245/75 AT tyres, which don't have aggressive side lugs.
The 255/70s that came with my D1 rubbed too, I adjusted the stops to suit.
The 245 part of the tyre size refers to the tread on the road, not the overall width of the tyre, and with the muddies, they obviously have the side lugs which protrude out of the sidewall.
rough guess with your KM3 pics .. could be +20mm or more of additional width beyond the tread width.
Steering stops are easy to adjust. just remember if you have the rear inner sidewall/lug rubbing say on the radius arms, then opposing stops will stop that.
So if the drivers inner rear sidewall rubs on the body/radius arms, then unscrew the passengers lock stop to suit, which also stops the passengers front side inner sidewall rubbing too.
