I can only echo what others have said in regards to Turner engineering. Unfortunately I did not have entirely smooth sailing dealing with local suppliers. Turner have everything you need, only ship decent stuff, are reasonably priced and shipping is relatively quick considering the distance.
I've just logged on to hopefully finish up my rebuild thread, but I'm keen to follow along here and see how you get on.
I note that like all good Defender drivers, you also have a sensible W123, so at least you can console yourself with that.

Andrew
Yup, a 280E with a missing K jet system at the moment but I console myself with the handful of W116's not to mention a Volvo or 6 However Land Rover Du Jour was my old Rangie today, LT95 4 speed for that authentic coil sprung experience :-) (No wine involved)
My Pet oil burner expert had a look at the head this afternoon and had a few choice expletives and he suggested that it'd been cooked well done at some stage but the interesting bit was the thread cut all the way to the chamber in the glow plug hole ......... Not to mention the heat cracking ...
As for Turners?
Begone foul temptation!
Talk about Head porn and yup I read your thread and noted Conrods aint Conrods........ Some of them were downright ugly
Haven't read the update but unless I find a replacement runner to drop straight in for the time being I cant see myself doing a rebuild on your scale, those days are gone for me so it'd be my Pet oil burner guy that'd end up doing it over time and Project Binky time scale (Costs me a fortune in Tea and Iced Vovo's too)
Learned a thing or 12 from your thread though and loving the Videos :-)
