One of my tractors has 2 of these in series on a Perkins motor. After the high pressure pump head wore out, the Perkins specialist at The Rock advised changing over to the double-length versions (just needed longer bolts) and changing twice as often due to dirt going straight through these filters once they get a little blocked. They recommend this change for any engine over 100hp.

I left the sedimenter as is and fitted a CAV filter head, filter element, and glass bowl next to the radiator on the right hand side of the car, and plumbed in upstream of the lift pump. Anyone wants photos, PM me with your e-mail address. I refuse to use the unecessarily over-complicated procedure to post photos on this site. I can do photos on Yahoo! Mail with three mouse clicks and no need for an separate internet storage site.
