    Thats not entirely true.

I've driven through quite a few rivers up to bonnet deep with a nice bow wave happening and the V8 just purred though.

That said a snorkel is the next mod planned for my disco. Very soon too.

Nice job well thouh out and neatly executed.
The only problem I see with the way you have done it is that you take up the space where a second battery would normally go.
The Safari snorkel comes in the side of the airbox and frees up that space.

Yes, I had thought of a second battery.
It was too hard to put the 80mm pipe in the side and I didn't want to downsize

    Well guys and girls,

There is a lighter side to snorkels on a V8!
In fact I'm having a ball

Where I live there are a few "Stop Lights" where the left hand lane quickly disappears, and they merge with the right.

Now there is always one, who thinks if he gets into the left lane, along side a slug of a vehicle, he has a good change to get well in front.

Enter the Discovery with Snorkel, yong guy traveling a few cars behind, sees, Disco with snorkel at lights! "Yipee, it's a diesel and I'm going to mow it's ass like grass in my Landcruiser ".

Lights change and a silver Disco, with snorkel, takes off with gusto, bogan in the lC is madly swapping gears and looking quite pale, as the outside lane disappears.

I guess as he pulls in behind the Disco and reads "V8", he realizes his mistake

I hate to say it, but I've become a 4WD baiting, 58 year old hoon . Mind you I don't pick on larger engined 4WD's

done the same in my tdi against a modded 3ltr pootrol, i saw him try to go round the outside so i just booted it and left him behind with barely even a smoke trail.

Also i got my snorkle thru a private sale, guy had it advertised for about 12months and was gradually dropping the price, he got to $550 so i offered him $300 delivered from QLD. He said yes and it was brand new in the box .
