Fitting the cheaper, Arrow air snorkel part 1

Over the las t two days I fitted one of those el-cheapo snorkels that don't just fit as per instructions

Firstly I removed the mud guard and fitted the snorkel to it.

Then I removed the air horn from the airbox and fitted a couple of 80mm water pipe bits from bunnings.

I then went to Super Cheap Auto and bought a 74mm air pipe from the "rice rocket" stand.

I chopped up the "dog leg" bit that was supplied (bit didn't fit anything) with the snorkel. This became the medium between the water pipe and "Turbo" air pipe.

Next step was to cut a hole for the air hose.

    More to follow.
(Sorry, I cannot upload pics as normal, my computer died and I'm using SWMBO computer, with no cute ftp)

Fitting the cheaper, Arrow air snorkel part 2

Piping was all put in place, glued, screwed and clamped.

Then a little "Flat Black" to make it all pretty

Then I cut up some thick rubber sheet, fitted it around the hole in the side, held on by medium self tapping bolts.

Fitting the "Turbo" hose onto the air snorkel was a PITA!
I wound up cutting two of the rim wires, pulling it on and then clamping it down.

After that, put the guard back on, leaning heavily against it!!
The 76mm pipe was a little too large, but I got there

After that, I used some small brass self tapping bolts to hold the top bracket in the doorway and more flat black..

Clamped the air intake on the top, more flat black and it's done

Later when my new computer arrives, I'll up load larger pictures.

    Cheers,

    Mate,

    It was not that hard
Worst part was aligning the snorkel on the Mud Guard.
I took Phill's advice and did it slowly and carefully as the "plan" or "Cut Out" is way off!!

    Cheers

Well, I bought the thing from E-bay, $325.00, $12.00 from Bunnings and $30.00 from Super Cheap.

    Total $367.00

The "Proper Ones" Safari, was $530 or some thing like that.

    Cheers,
