    Angry need help with cruise control

    Hi guys

    I'm retro fitting cruise to my 1998 300TDI and for the life of me can't find the wiring loom to the vacuum pump!! Everything else has bolted up and plugged up just fine. Also the vacuum pump has at least 3 million vacuum lines coming from it (well maybe just three or four) and I've got no idea where they go. I've got Rave and the manuals but they dont give me the info I need. Anyone got the answers for me??

    From memory, the plug should be in the lower compartment behind the left headlight (Under the spot where you would put an aux battery). As for the vacuum hoses, there are at least 2, one to the accellerator bellows and the second to a fancy switch on your brake pedal. Cheers, Erich.

    Hey, thanks for that. The manual shows a picture of the lead heading up under the airbox so I didn't look forward. I'll check tomorrow and let you know.

    its a real PITA to get to, if you look behind your left hand headlight there is a comparment that is designed small enough so that you can't get your hand in there, thats where it sits.

    Question need help with cruise control

    Guys

    OK the problems solved but I have another one! The reason I didn't recognise the plug despite being told where it was was because I had a "valve solenoid exhaust gas recirculation - diesel" (part number ERR 3314) NOT the cruise vacuum pump! So now I can source one of them and I'm away - however what is THIS pump for and why didn't my 1998 TDI have one anywasy?

    Any thoughts
