Pretty sure it is 2" over standard so would make it around 245/70 or 75 r16.

    Ive got 265's on mine.

Not sure about the legal bit though.
I think the S3 even went through a roadworthy with those on.

    Legally?
    1. Depends on the vehicle you have.
    2. Depends on tyre manufacturer's rim size specification. Quick look at BFGoodrich ATs, LT275/70R16 seems to be the largest for 7 inch rims (Disco Steels)

Hmmm legally is the big issue. I think this depends on state of registration and you will have issues of overall lift which includes tyre height as well as spring and body lift.

For some reason 50 mm increase comes to mind.

The biggest tyre you can fit however is a completely different question. I have a set of rims with 285/75 16 and another with 34 x 10.5 x 16.

The engineer in Eltham will pass 33" provided the overall lift is under 150mm

Do you mean width or height?

They are 7in wide so 265 is the widest you can go.

As for height, that depends on what vehicle it is on. I'll assume Discovery since this is the Discovery section
In Qld you can only go 15mm larger in diameter than standard which makes people here seem to choose 245/70R16 tyres.

    Other States I don't know.

I know legally you can go to a 265 in qld but the largest physically you can fit on a standard D1 is 245/75 or 235/85 simply because if you go any wider it hits your taution bar in the front when you turn... to go bigger you'd have to get offset rims and also you'd have to do a 2 inch body lift i am running 245/75 and i even have a slight problem with the taution bar when i turn hard left but thats all
