There are too many people in Aus that have exceptionally poor ebay bidding practise. I mean seriously.... who gets into a bidding war when there is 6 days of the auction left - surely they cant be so dim to not realise they're driving the price of the item skyward at whats still an irrelevant time.

I now use Gixen that Ron B was talking about. It means that I dont forget and the bid goes in with a couple of seconds remaining - and no price jacking!
    Cheers

I bought my '97 D1 with a non airbag ARB winch bar for $2175 off ebay. I bought a genuine Landrover roofrack for $132.50. I bought an unbranded MAF for $350. I love ebay. I also sell a bit of stuff, mostly motorcycle, and the big bits that are worth money go for cheap and the small junk you consider throwing out gets a good price. Everyone should clean out their shed. You might be surprised.

Made an absolute killing in the last three weeks selling broken stereo equipment.

Admittedly it was all mad English audiophile stuff, but still, broken.

Sold a couple of Finch fridges, too. I tested them both a couple of years ago and working fine. Of course I get the call, and tell them to give it a shake, and all of the rest of the ammonia fridge talk.

    Nope.

A few days later it comes back. I give it a shake. Notice that the 12v leads are shorted to each other - I'd hope that wouldn't be a problem running 240v, but don't know.

    Plug it in, running fine.

Excellent, was regretting getting rid of both of them, need one to move the food up to the new house.

The garage sale was barely worth the effort, which was odd since last time was a huge success, and selling very similar stuff both times.

No shortage of bargains on ebay, just have to bide your time.

And just to think the extra mounting kit with crush cans is close to $300. I bought a Series2 Disco ARB winch bar off Ebay quite a few years ago for $250. The trick is to look regularly if you want something.

Man, I really should have a selling spree. So much Disco, Ford and motorbike stuff to get rid of.
