do people get carried away on ebay or what

I was watching this bar because as much as I don't like arb I need a bar for my disco, and i like the bars that don't have the sticky our bit for the fairlead.

Land Rover Discovery ARB Winch Bull Bar - eBay 4x4 Accessories, Exterior, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 22-Mar-09 19:57:20 AEDST)

Look at the price this bar is fetching its second hand admittedly in good condition but it doesn't even have mounting brackets.....and I'm assuming indicators.
it says its to suit air bag models so I'm assuming the person that buys this will have to buy a mounting kit and crush cans because looking at the pics they are not on the bar

Still good result for the seller.......

I love buying & selling on eBay but some do get carried away with the excitement of an auction.

I bought some LC split rims with 7.50R16 tyres for $100, removed the tyres then sold the rims for over $150.

I have no idea what that's worth new but that price looks a bit steep considering there's no mounting gear with it!

DB, I'd say you are correct unless they are just not pictured, but even so that's one high starting price

no the starting price was 400bux which I thought was reasonable for a bar in that condidtion even without mounting kit.......

but just to let you know hoadie and to give you some idea people are paying that sort of price NEW.....I think dereks price for his defender was not far of that i think. and that would be with mounting kit

Why on earth would you not bother to check what it would cost you new?

bull bars seem to do pretty well on ebay - I sold a bent tjm bar that had been hacked with a grinder to allow fitment of a highmount for about 600 bux a few years back. Was so happy with that sale, I fitted the bar to the blokes car for nix when he came round to pick it up.

I have an ARB 2007 price list and a Discovery Series 1 Air Bag Model Winch Bar was $1675.00 back then. I assume the current price would be even more.

That is very close to new price, I think I paid $1500. for a new one for a DII with airbags. It states that mounting brackets not provided.
E-bay is like clearing sales - you must know your prices before hand and set a limit and be prepared to let it go at your limit.

plain rubber manual shift boot for EA-ED falcon, worth $5 from a wrecker..... chuck it on EBAY with the tags "SVO, GT, Sprint" etc and it sells for $80-$90.... the genuine GT imitation leather item retailed for less than $30 last time i bought one!
