    200Tdi waterpump

I put a new pump on my '92 200Tdi around 8000 Kilometers ago.
It's been fine up till a week ago when the car started to loose water. I found a weep out of the hole in the pump shaft, NOT HAPPY!!!!
A genuine LR part I bought as a spare to keep for a rainy day too.
Looking at it, the pulley on the new pump sits out around 5mm too far forward and seems to be putting strain on the bearings and seals, hence the leak.
Surely there's only 1 pump for the thing, I had to supply a VIN number to order it.

There are two water pumps for the 200Tdi engine, one for the Disco/Rangie and one for the Defender.

The Discovery one has a part number of RTC6395.

Very hard to mix up as the hoses are in different places.
The Disco has them on opposite sides of the pump.
The Fender has them nearly on the same side of the pump about 90 degrees apart.

I would expect to get way more than 8000km out of one, more like a few years of driving.

It's definitely a Discovery pump, just way to long. The Pulley stands out prouder than a honeymooners dick!
Believe it or not, the dealer I got the part from has washed their hands of it! OK, so I bought it a few years ago and only just fitted it, but it was still a brand spanking new pump and obviously way out of Spec.
