Don't know if this helps but BFG USED to make 33 x 9.5 in AT and MTs. Would this help with turning issues ie less tyre to rub on steering gear?? Back in the mid 90's when a 33 was considered a big tyre the yanks would run 33 x 12.5 on their Jeeps and use a 33x9.5 as a spare for weight savings on their spare wheel carrier.

I have been wanting to put some -25 rims on my Disco which is running 245/75r16's and a 2" lift... I have already done a camel cut to the rear. To keep things legal i have decided to put some cheap Bunnings garden edging on as flares only costs $24 for 10m and from all accounts is reasonably strong and doesn't sag.

Will i need to cut the guards out to put the new rims on? or will the camel cut be enough?

    James.

Grover-98 -25mm or -1" offset = moving wheels out > 2" so your guards will be cactus if you don't chop the top of them out even with the 31" you are running. However once you have done that you can go to 33" with no probs.

    hey james,
here's some pics of 16x7 -25mm on my disco with 265/75 tyres.
Although they stick out a lot, im not sure if cutting the top of the guard will be necessary. with a narrower 245 tyre i reckon you'd be fine.
I haven't done any cutting yet (not even camel cut) so i can't flex it up to find out. It's fine for road driving without the cutting, only heard it scrape a couple times when hitting my driveway too enthusiastically
Will hopefully get the grinder out this weekend and see what needs to be removed. i'll be taking out as little possible

Just extend the bumpstops, this will limit uptravel so you dont trash your guards on the uplift. If your going to cut the guards you will need flares which starts to get $$$ and messy.

bought them off a bloke on ebay. I thought they were from LRA but checking their website, the dimensions aren't listed. they only have an 8" in -25mm.
They might just be old or something and no longer made.

Sorry to hijack this thread , i was just wondering who has done 35s on a 4 door D1 , what offset rims and tire width.. aside from the cut and flares what amount of lift was used and what issues did you encounter , aside from driveline ones wich im sure everyone is aware of.. also with the lift where was it.. ie inches of body inches of spring... thankyou.. dan.
