    95 v8 disco ES

    I have bought this car but i didnt get a remote c/locking button.My question is does this car have an immobiliser and can i buy a button from a dealer?

    my 95 has central locking that works off the key only no romote

    immobiliser?

    When i lock the car with the key the lights flash and a red flashing light come on the dash is this an alarm or immobiliser as i need an immobiliser to get new lic in perth as it has vic plates?

    there are two different frequencies for the disco remotes I can't remember which australia uses...but its not the same as the UK...

    as for the red flashing light that is the immobiliser
    Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

    Mine has remote also.
    Well my 95Es anyhow.
    It worked intermittantly as most do and I replaced it with an aftermarket one.
    They immobilized the old one and a new unit cost less with two remotes than than 2 remotes on their own did.
    Plus it worked every time.

    self arming

    Without the button is the immobiliser self arming ?I havent noticed that it is do you think i should just get one installed?

    if your going to off road I wouldn't bother getting an immobiliser installed...if you have one I would recommend getting it bypassed with a by pass plug.

    well i need by law to get rego in WA to have an imobiliser and the one in the car doesnt comply because it doesnt self arm it is only activated by the key so i am getting an aproved system put in by the auto electrition with two remote buttons $270.
    Thanks for you replys it helps with me decision making
