    Heater core pipe replacement.

I have searched and read about heater core replacement and I was wondering has anyone changed the pipes with out removing the dash?
One of my pipes on my 300 tdi disco has corroded away at the end where the radiator hose connects to it.

I was advised by a service provider to replace the core any way while the stuff was out but was wondering wheather it was worth it?

Also where can I get the parts from to fix my problem rover parts dont have them listed.

    thanks Ralph

Yes, I have. Someone had cut the pipes off so I had to fit new ones.

The problem is that they have a clamp on them and the bolt is accessible only from the firewall side.

So what I did was to drill the screw out (with a long series drill from under the dash - it can be done) thus allowing removal of the clamp.

Then I silver soldered a nut onto the backing plate so I could fit the screw from under the dash when reassembling it.

This is the clamp after I'd finished. The screw was originally on the other side and impossible to access.
