    ARB COMPRESSOR Starting each hour

Just a short question, for who owns one of these:
If an ARB Compressor remains electrically connected for some time, it's correct if it starts a couple of turns approx. each hour?
I checked it with foam for external pressure leaks but i didn´t found any.

    Thank You

Mine does this too, put it down to no valve between tank and piston so small amount of air leaks past the rings.
Never woried me as only time it's on when not in use is if some one kicks the switch under pass. seat.

    Cheers.

Is it set up to run your lockers ? The ARBs have a small air reservoir (tank) attached to them and any air system will, over time, lose a small amount of air. Once the pressure falls below the set minimum the compressor will kick in to brng the tank back up to pressure. The solution is easy... turn it off when you don't require it.

    Cheers
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

keep an eye on the bleed down time, eg if you are working on your lr for over an hr, start the pump and let it pressure up the time it to see how long the cycle time is, keep an eye on it in the next month or so , if you start getting longer cycle times, it can show the beginning of a problem leak better to check up on it in the shop than in the bush.

were you able to find the leek ? i dont want to shake the apple cart , but if there are no leeks on the outside of the pump and there are no leeks on the plumbing to the lockers, there is a chance the seals on the diff locks are warn and are starting to leek what year is your discovery ? there are two types of airlocker, for a disco 1 one of them (the older modle ) had some faults or required reworking, in the upgrade it had the main air seal over hauled and redesigned. it now has a dubble seal, the problem caused oil to leek back in the pressure line and to foul the air pump solonoid with oil, do you have excessive oil on your pump ?

Is yours the current tyre compressor model or the superseded one?

I had the last model and it used to cycle exactly every 40 minutes if I left it on. No lockers engaged.

My new one will hold pressure for days.

Series 1, the ARB is brand new, just installed. It only has the original plugs blocking the future locker outputs, and the "tyre kit" connector.
Ididn't find leaks, but as they are so small, they can be.

Sounds normal to me, but check your conection too, mine leaks through the conection every now and then (only do tyres on mine too).
Good advice on checking for leaks in the diff locks guys, I'll put this in the space bank.

Hey GG where did you mount it? Just curious thats all.

    Cheers.
