    Hi guys,
Just to add to this I took it for a drive on Sunday.
To me it feels dead to drive as though the turbo isn't boosting.
Pulled the hose post intercooler off and you can preshure increase by hand over outlet as motor rpm's raised.
Bolts on fuel pump lines are correct.
We also backed the kickdown cable off by 1/16". Whats the correct setting for it?(New one fitted post motor rebuild).
Fuel lines and tank don't have any visable damage.
Are the fuel line bolts on the filter different?(same size heads).
Note...It had a 2nd hand turbo fitted when the motor rebuilt.

    Cheers.

Fuel line intake in the tank? Maybe blocked if the offroading has shaken up some sediment in the tank.

That little wire on the back of the injector pump (solenoid cut off or something?) If the engine has been in and out recently, and with the offroading, the wire might be a bit dodgy in the plug. Mine shook itself loose with just normal road driving!

Although, if this is stuffed it'll usually kill the car altogether.

But its easy enough to check at least. Take the plug off and see what the wire condition is like in the connector. Again with mine, it looked all good but when i popped the plug off the wire just fell out
Already have taken a squiz at the cut off and she seems all fine, thing is quite a few things could have happened or come loose, guess it just will take time to go through everything..

    You know what chaps...(Alien d2)

Ive actualy re adjusted the kickdown and now she seems to be going fine again, but dont know for how long will keep an eye on it with in the next few days.

i adjusted it the other way to what (Alien d2) did and that was towards the front where it was originaly sitting but prob just another half turn and all looks well. Still going to head out and just check all these sensors to make sure theres no water/muddy crap in there. Thanks all for suggestions.

    so it was the transmission?

I was going to suggest the throttle cable, maybe it had some loose and slipped or something.

But thats good new mate, keep us posted.

But for reference the fuel bleed screw it top centre on the fuel filter housing, not the filter itself.

    Hi Joker,

Just thinking that it may be the throttle cable/linkages or something along that vein. You mentioned that after fiddling with the kickdown that it wen't good again, had a similar issue with another car once where the casing had split, shortening the run of the throttle cable so full throttle was only about 1/2, could this be happening here?

Couldn't see the split until lots checking and head scratching, and it was only when a mate noticed the throttle only moving minimally with the pedal mashed that we wen't looking for it.

Have you confirmed that you are getting full span on the throttle in line with the pedal?

You aint having a good run are you. Can I suggest taking it to a proper spannerman that specialises in rovers. I just had my 300TDi rebuilt by Ray in Romsey, did a good job with it.

I know there is some very knowledgeable fellas here, but Ray's been around rovers most of his working life. If its something that is baffling all others, at least give him a ring, he's happy to chat about rovers.

What it cause any problems if i would give the lift pump afew squirts????

i have a new one here just have not gotton around to putting it on.

With the cables we have checked them out and all is clear there, the thing i dont understand is the pedal gets a liitle harder to push down when accelerating but when its running fine its nice and smooth and not hard anymore?????

    keep checking it out...thanks guys
