Was it just more dry joints on the PCB. I am yet to do my rear windows.

Glad you got it sorted.I had a totally buggered window lift ECU recently and bought one from Murray at Jag Rover Spares in Brisbane for $60 and they are from low km import cars.
My rear windows on the Disco have stopped working, so I had a brainwave and thougt i'd remove the ECU an have a look at repairng it, after much research on the common problem.
So, trying ever so patiently to remove the ECU from its hidey hole, I managed to free the ECU from the surround, I got stuck on one god damn plug! ... I managed to disconnect the larger plug that is located at the top, but the bottom smaller plug, no matter how much i pried, pulled, begged and pleaded, I could not get the damn thing to come free ... So now after all the drama, the plug has become loose on the ECU circuit board, none of the windows work and that damn plug STILL wont budge!
For future reference, how is that plug removed!???
I will have to replace the ECU now, unless of course it can be repaired.
What was supposed to be a simple job, turned out to be a right pain in the backside!
If anyone might have a spare laying around, could you please PM me?
Thanks guys n gals
er, the ecu has nothing to do with the rear windows,
so when you get the ecu problem sorted,
pop the window switch panel out and swap a front switch to a rear switch and try it,
that will prove if it is the switch, if the window still doesn't move, check that the front window moves,
if all ok, pull the door cards and see if the window mechanisms have all thier nylon rollers, most likely problem.
and the window motor has probably driven off the rack,
and report back.
er, could be something other than dry joints on the pcb that controls the windows, but not likely. I have replaced the window regulators (all 4 by now from memory). I now have the newer nylon block type rather than the original roller type. I developed the dry joint problem a while ago. It started with intermittent functioning of the rear windows and got gradually worse. I haven't had time to fix it so I can't offer a solution to to the plug problem. Sorry.
Did you look at this
"Repair a Land Rover Discovery electric window ECU to make the rear windows open again"
This shows a good picture of the small plug.
Assuming you have already seen this thread

I have a problem with just me rear windows that wont operate till approx. 15mins or so after inserting the key or driving, i thought the ecu might be giving up but its not a random problem and doesnt affect the fronts at all.
Surely if its an ecu problem then it would affect all windows, is there some kind of setting that can cause only the rears to operate after a certain time frame ?

If you do a search, there are some detailed threads on how to fix this problem, it is something that I also need to do!
If I remember correctly it comes down to a diode on the window ECU that burns out.... a $5 (or less) part but you need to be careful with soldering the ECU to make sure you don't put too much heat into it and destroy other components.
