Whilst it is a Bosch rotary injection pump, there are some differences between types. It's a good tutorial - Whilst that guy on the other forum made it look easy - there are a thousand things that can go wrong, which is why diesel shops charge what they do.
There are a couple of other options - buy a 2nd hand one from the UK, get it rebuilt local (Most diesel shops will suddenly get interested when you say 'bosch rotary', as you have seen it's a common type of injection pump, even on bigger trucks) or take it off and post it to a rebuilder mentioned on this forum who does 300 tdi injector pumps. ( Do some searches under 300tdi and you'll find heaps of info)
And just to let you feel less disadvantaged - I'm in the same boat. I think it was a tank of bad fuel that shrunk my seals, and it took a while for them to recover, but either way at 400K it's time for some work on the injector pump.
