Thread: centre console - early D1

Mark, have a look at Tim's one (seeing as its the same year)... also, naturally, ask JC if he has one

In reverse order: yep the facelift D1 is sufficently different as to make fitting the centre console to an early D1 nigh impossible. When I had a HA Disco, I did some research, and the cubby box for early D1's was either a bag that sat in the space with straps, a removeable optional extra

or more common not included. They do pop up in the UK from time to time but in Australia they are a bit rare.

It seemed neater to leave it as it was. Even a centre console from a RR of the same vintage will look out of place (Although it may be a closer fit)

Make one. The originals are made of brittle plastic with even more brittle hinge material.

Yup, one of the hinges on mine is broken, but it does feel brittle. if it breaks i'll jsut make a box for it I think, especially at that price!

I dont think the later consoles fit as they have no provision for the radio at the front.

I think i may have a blue one. I would have to check but if its there and in good nick it's yours.
