Didnt think we got heated sreens here so how much it costs is mute since you wont be able to get one, only a standard cheap non heated glass.
Thats unusual my insurance covers the new rubber for the windscreen, as they need to cut it to get the winscreen out.
When i was in Qld in know Suncorp covers windscreen and rubber i didn't have to pay any excess, and now in the NT i have TIO and they also cover the rubber aswell

In my previous D1(92),I had my windscreen replaced with the genuine heated screen. It may have cost me $450 in excess, but I got a screen worth $2590.This was 3-4 yr ago.

My 200 disco had one - they are excellent. Can you get one for an MA onwards?
I'm guessing MA would be referring to the VIN of the 300Tdi disco's. You could certainly retrofit one as the body is the same shape (can also fit them to a RRC) just a matter of the electrickertry to get it to work. AFAIK the heater element is on a timer so you would need all that aswell.
Bit of an investment for minimal gain though...

why not?
If I'm going to pay $1100 a year I want my monies worth.
Besides. It may only be mildly cold in Perth, but driving to work in winter at 0 dark hundred without a heater as I used to in Brover it gets kinda hard to see. And with a 200Tdi taking the same time to warm up as Haley's comet takes to travel its entire orbit, its probably a good idea.
