There is a big nut on the back of the fan where it attaches to the water pump. Using the correct spanner, undo it in the direction that the fan usually turns.
G'day all,
I'm swapping my viscous fan for a pair of electric fans (AU Falcon) but I have a technical question:
How do I get the viscous coupling and Fan off? Shroud is easy but which bolts do I remove to get the viscous fan out?
Cheers,
John

Modify an old spanner.. Couldn't find a thin 32mm spanner so took an angle grinder to an old on and made my own.. works perfect :P

Thanks lads! I'll modify one of my 6 million old spanners to do the trick and get that bad boy out of there. I'm not really worried about preserving it as I don't intend to reuse it, ever.
I'll take some pics and keep you posted.
