Hey guys, I was told that I need new lifters and rockers for my 94 disco. I was also told that it is possible to substitute the lifters from a Holden comodore, is this true if so does anyone know which model, are the rockers also interchangable, any advice would be great as I am supposed to be going to Licola this weekend and I have 2 X 4WD and none of them are going,
Thanks for your help.

No the rockers are completely different and expensive.

It's obviously making a tapping noise, Yes?
If it were me, before spending any money
1st thing i would look at is the rockers themselves,
They are very soft, and the pushrod can hammer into the top of them causing way to much clearance and therefore tap, tap, tap.
Ive bought 2 different vehicles with noisy tappets and this was the only problem, 1 crook rocker on both vehicles.
you can get a second hand rocker set somewhere, i just swapped the damaged rocker with a good one, it's easy to see a damaged one just by looking where the pushrod goes into the rocker.
I also sat the whole rocker set in some petrol for about an hr & blew out the oil feed holes with the air compressor,
Never had a prob since.
You may have bigger problems than i had, but it would be a good starting point as it doesn't cost anything to have a look.
Careful when lifting off the rocker set from the head, don't let a pushrod come up with rocker set as you can pull a lifter out of it's housing and then you will have to take off the inlet manifold.
Top one is the damaged 1.
Good luck![]()

Sure is making a good tapping noise but only when it warms up, I am pretty sure that at the moment I only have a problem with one as it can be clearly heard when I use a make shift stethescope on it, Thanks for your advice I will order some today and post my results.
Thanks for your help
