As i said ....i wasn't getting my hopes up ......as predicted ..it was back to crap again this morning .........

OK ....had a thought ..(no wise cracks from the gallery thanks!!..)
a while ago i moved the coil and amp from it original position as below ..
and remembered that before the swmbo was swanning it in NY...she broke down up the street and i had to go down to save her ..lol
got home alright , popped the bonnet in the garage and noticed a sparking short from one of the wires, which one it was i do not know...so i separated them and taped them up...and the problem was fixed....
today i thought that maybe just maybe there was still a problem in that area , and moved the coil and amp back to where it came from ........just took it for a run for half an hour and not one hesitation !!!!
now I'm not getting my hopes up because this has happened before (every time i replace or do something it goes fine for a few hours and then turns to crap againe).........but could someone tell me (as i don't have a rav)...what is in that area that would short or throw spark because of the coil wires?....and could this have caused the problem ?
cheers

......ALL FIXED.....
.....decided to take another look at the leads last night at around 11pm in the dark...at first there wasn't any apparent sparking..but i noticed a little flicker very sight that at first i thought was just the moon light passing through the grill and into the fan ...but on closer inspection found that on the rear facing side of the coil lead is where the light was coming from and on even closer inspection found that in around where you could see on a few of the others were the same...it was like looking at a sparks in a ballon...the coil lead was sparking inside the lead at three places before it even reached the distributor ....id already swapped out the leads for new ones ..but these for some reason must have been a dud lot..
Changed them out for a new set of top guns and OMG!!...Bloddy brill...
Obviously the SWMBO drilled me for spending money on what see deemed to be wasted money, but we will leave the with us guys..
Cheers for all the help guys ...hopefully we will get a clear run to Alice in sept now ....
Cheers
congratulations for sorting this out..was time consuming
